Updates to UK Student Dependant Requirements
Starting April 4, 2024, minor changes will be implemented in the requirements for students bringing dependants to the UK. Currently, students can have dependants if they receive a government award and pursue full-time courses lasting at least six months. The term “award” will be replaced with “scholarship or sponsorship,” aligning it with other parts of Appendix Student and existing guidance. However, guidance may change further after April 4. These adjustments will impact Category 1 of our website information, “Can I have dependants when I study in the UK?” We will review the rules alongside revised guidance and update our information accordingly.
